The Last of Us Part II Remaster

"The Last of Us Part II may be receiving a remaster"

The Last of Us Part II may be receiving a remaster according to an unintentional developer at Naughty Dog. Lead Outsource Artist Mark Pajarillo mentioned the version in a recently updated LinkedIn experience post after it was first noticed by Resetera users.

The original post read, demonstrating its existence," Responsible for overseeing the production of all outsourced environment art assets, weapons, and interactive props for two iconic titles, The Last of Us: Part One and Remastered." When composer Gustavo Santaolalla hinted at some new features being added to the remaster in July, hints of an improved PS5 version first surfaced.

    Improvements unknown so far

It only makes sense that Pajarillo would work as an environment artist on the PS5 version of The Last of Us Part II since he did so himself. Despite the fact that the game was only released on the PS4 three years ago and has since received a PS5 patch that allowed 60 frames per second, the entire remaster feels pointless. In fact, one of the main reasons the 2020 sequel received a full-fledged remake of Last of Us, complete with new visuals and modernized mechanics, was so it could compete. Technically speaking, I'm curious what Naughty Dog will promise this time, aside from haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. I hope we won't have to deal with the contentious narrative of the game again.

More of The Last of Us licence to come

Although the LinkedIn post isn't an official announcement, PlayStation has historically marketed the company. For instance, The Last of Us now comes in three different editions: the first one from 2013; a PS4 remaster from 2014; and the most recent remake," The Last Of Us: Part I ," for the PS5 and PC. Bloodborne, meanwhile, is still rotting on the outdated PS4 at a erratic 30 frames per second. As was previously mentioned, Santaolalla, the Argentine composer for TLOU, revealed in an interview that players could" make" him" play a few songs. I'm assuming that this would be analogous to Ellie Williams' iconic music, which has button prompts for notes. The Last of Us 2 featured Santaolalla's character for the first time, casually playing his banjo in Jackson City.

We can anticipate that existing owners will be able to purchase it for $ 10 if and when it does drop. According to reports from the previous year, Naughty Dog was also developing a" director's cut" for The Last of Us Part 2, which would likely be released on PC and resemble Horizon Forbidden West: Complete Edition. The studio itself keeps quiet about the remaster and its upcoming projects, which include a multiplayer game set in TLOU's post-apocalyptic universe and" brand-new single-player" experiences. Concerns about the viability of the latter have put it" on ice" for the time being, and 25 employees have also been let go.

Due to backwards compatibility, The Last of Us Part II can be played on both the PS4 and PS5.
